The Vigo County History Center Invites Visitors to Relive the Vibrant “Decade of Decadence” with a New Exhibit  “Back to the 1980s”

Official opening date- Friday December 13 with the exhibit open through April 2025.

Dust off your leg warmers, crank up the boombox, and prepare to travel back in time! The History Center is thrilled to announce the opening of a new exhibit, “Back to the 1980s,” a flashback to one of the most dynamic and colorful decades in recent history. The exhibit promises a nostalgic and immersive experience into the culture, trends, and transformative moments of the 1980s.

From iconic fashion statements and classic toys to iconic music and a timeline of national and local events,“Back to the 1980s”offers a journey through time to the era that defined pop culture. The exhibit will also showcase many artifacts and memorabilia from the 1980's.
