History Center To Celebrate Juneteenth with Freetown Village Singers
The Vigo County History Center is pleased to honor and celebrate Juneteenth 2023 on Monday, June 19. Falling on a day the History Center would typically be closed, staffers not only plan to open the facility, but will mark the day with performers, educational speaker sessions and more.
History Center Announces New Website, Logo
The Vigo County History Center is entering a new era, while still honoring the history of Vigo County.
On May 26, 2023 the History Center unveiled a refresh of the facility’s branding. With the direction of Vigo County Historical Society Board Member Dee Reed and Executive Director Marla Flowers, the History Center engaged two local firms for the website project. The logo and website design was created by the marketing firm, BoCo Collective. The overall project and content was led by Katie Shane of K. Shane Communications. Shane serves the History Center through a year-round communications and marketing contract.
Exhibit Dedicated to Front Line Workers Opens
Front line workers are front and center in a new exhibit at the Vigo County History Center. It’s called, “A Tribute to the Frontline” and features artifacts from Vigo County nursing and firefighting history.
