Time Travelers: Woodlawn Cemetery

Join the Vigo County Time Travelers for October’s trip to Woodlawn Cemetery!

Established in 1839, it is the oldest cemetery still in existence in Terre Haute. While many of the city’s early prominent citizens buried here were reinterred to Highland Lawn, Woodlawn still has its stories to tell.

Learn more about its notable residents, which include Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers, canal and railroad businessmen, and the town of Terre Haute’s very first mayor.

Time Travelers is FREE for members of Indiana Landmarks and/or the Vigo County History Center.

Additional attendees are asked to pay $7, which goes to future Time Travelers events and programming.

Admission for non-members can be purchased at the History Center or on the History Center website, www.vchsmuseum.org.
