Join the Vigo County History Center for a fun and educational summer with one of our summer camps and/or programs.

History Living Camp: The River, The Road, The Rail

Camp Descriptions and Details

  • Monday, June 5th through Friday, June 9th from 9:00am – 2:00pm (Lunch provided)

  • Camp program for ages 8-12 - $125.00

    • $25.00 non-refundable deposit must accompany registration *Applies to total cost

  • Stage performance Friday, June 9 at 12:30pm

This one-week camp will introduce young participants to three elements of local history through theatric history-telling. Campers will tour various exhibits throughout the museum and create theatrical scenes of Terre Haute’s River, Road, & Rail history. The camp week will end with a staged performance free to family and friends on Friday, June 9 at 12:30pm.

Junior Time Travelers

Session Descriptions and Details

  • Choose a Wednesday or Friday session - June 14 - July 7, 4 -5pm

  • Camp program for ages 8-12 - $125.00

    • $15 per Junior Time Traveler, Adult Guest is free

Featured each Wednesday and Friday from June 14 to July 7, Junior Time Travelers (and their guests) will tour Downtown Terre Haute for a historic look at our community. Bring a camera or smart phone for photo opportunities throughout the walking adventure!

Thursday Tots

Session Descriptions and Details

  • Every Thursday June 15 - July 20

  • $10 Adult Admission, Tot participants under 5 years-old are free

Tots love history too! Participants, accompanied by an adult, will enjoy a fun, interactive experience at the History Center.

Activities include:

  • Guided tour through the museum

  • Make a craft or hear a fun story

  • One FREE kids scoop ice cream sundae from the Apgar Soda Shop
